Stepping Up for Newton Schools
I’m a proud NPS alum and mom, and a community volunteer. I have nearly two decades of experience solving tough problems for communities as a legal aid lawyer, policy advocate, and nonprofit leader. I work with individuals, families, and organizations in Newton to ensure everyone has access to the support and opportunities they need to succeed. I have been involved in collective bargaining as an employer and a union member. I know how to bring people together to turn shared values into action.
I'm stepping up to run for School Committee now because our schools are at a pivotal moment. The challenges we face are real, and we can’t afford more of the same.
I'm focused on solutions, not sides. I will protect what works, fix what doesn’t, and keep Newton’s schools—and its future—thriving.
My Priorities for School Committee:
- Put Students First - Ensure every student feels supported, safe, and valued by meeting their full academic, social-emotional, and mental health needs. Promote an inclusive and respectful school environment where there is zero tolerance for hate, bigotry, or discrimination.
- Funding That Fuels Success - Fight for the resources our schools need to support every student and advance Superintendent Nolin’s thoughtful vision for NPS through transparent and sustainable budgets.
- Restore Trust & Strengthen Partnerships - Build strong, productive relationships between students, educators, families, and the entire Newton community through clear communication, careful listening, and community engagement.
- Digital Health & Balance - Take a thoughtful approach to urgently address technology use by our students – including cell phones, social media, and AI – to support focus, mental well-being, and healthy development.
